ABOUT OUR CONGREGATION
Mountain Synagogue, Inc. is a vibrant and active congregation that offers a religious, social and educational framework for the local Jewish community, for both our permanent area residents and part-time visitors. Founded over 40 years ago, the Synagogue was established on the ideals of giving everyone a chance to learn, grow, and socialize, via Jewish traditions. Our dues are extremely reasonable and we need your support.
Contact us today and find out how you can be a part of our welcoming community
Due to the recent outbreaks of the Covid Delta Variant, we ask that in-person attendees bring and wear face masks, and observe the six-foot safety distancing rule. Thank you!!
Our next live service will be Friday, August 13th at 7:00PM and then on Saturday, August 28th at 10:00AM. After services on August 28th, we will have our Annual Member Meeting, at the conclusion of which there will be a picnic lunch. Please bring your own picnic basket, as Covid prevents us to provide food at this time.
WE WILL ALSO ATTEMPT TO HAVE AN ONLINE LINKS FOR SERVICES, SO PLEASE CHECK YOUR MEMBER EMAIL FOR FURTHER DETAILS.

Rabbi Barry Altman, Emeritus
We are proud and honored to announce that Rabbi Barry Altman has become our Spiritual Leader! Rabbi Altman recently retired from Temple Beth - El in Ormond Beach, Florida, after 38 years of devoted service where he was given Emeritus status, and he continues as a professor of religion at Stetson University in DeLand, Florida, where has taught for the past 20 years. He and his lovely wife Nancy, will be spending time with us this summer as they enjoy Western North Carolina and its many activities.

in-person services may resume.
We are truly excited!
HIGH HOLIDAY SHOFAR
Mountain Synagogue President Joel Edelson sounding the Shofar during our High Holiday Virtual Services.
It was a moving and memorable experience to listen to Joel, and it was emblematic of the Holidays.
Thanks to Kathy Zoss, Phyllis Cardozza and Greg Watson for leading the services, together with all those other who were kind enough to help.
